OLYMPICS Cont

Well now the swimming is over its hard to see how Australia can win another medal lettleown another gold. I do however already count the gold that we have in our pocket in sailing when I say this.

It appears that the Australian people must start demanding that our government keep up with the sport spending of other nations. Great Britain won a total of 9 gold medals last olympics and they already have 11 with a week to go this time around. Countries like Italy, Germany, Japan and Korea have come along in leaps and bounds, not to mention China with the drugs they take they can only imrpove. Australia seem to have began there decline back to and below the pack.
I think rather than Kevin Rudd trying to lead us out of the recession we are plummeting into he and his government should do his utmost to pull us out of the depression we are destined to face in the next 10 years due to poor sports results. If we want to arrive in London and put up even half a decent showing then now is the time to crack the whips.

BARSTOOL

The barstool award goes to Networks SBS, 7 and Southern Cross in Tasmania.
The Olympics coverage has been nothing short of pathetic. The conflict between AFL and the Olympics has not been handled very well at all, especially here in Tasmania where Southern Cross is an amalgamation of channels 7 and 10. In Melbourne and every other capital city they have recieved footy on channel 10 and have been free to watch uninterupted coverage of the olympics except for 2 games over the weekend which were friday night and sunday afternoon. However here in Tasmania we have lost the Olympics coverage (except SBS) during 4 games, 1 of those being the snorefest Melbourne v West Coast.
Funnily enough all 4 games were shown in Hobart on TDT delayed within an hour or so of Southern Cross's telecast so what was the point?

SBS had generally done a great job, picking through the bones tossed to them by Channel 7. Why SBS couldnt show team sports involving Australia I dont know, Channel 7 show us bits and pieces and thats it.
This afternoon though SBS made thier first mistake, I was watching a handball contest between Norway and Romania, with 8 seconds to play and 1 point between the teams a time out was called, SBS stayed with the coverage through the time out and as the players were walking back onto the court they cut to an add and returned 4 minutes later going straight to Water polo which was a replay from an hour before anyway. Who knows who won the handball?
Channel 7 everytime they leave for news they advise they are now going for Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane and Melbourne Viewers.....................Stuff Tassie then? Up yours Channel 7!
Congratulations all 3 networks, you have truly made the Olympics a frustrating and shitful experience.

GYMNASTICS

Hilarious! I think Mens Gymnastics is for nancys who spent way too much time playing dollys with the girls at school. I dont understand why Channel 7 feel the need to make me watch the mens floor routine considering there is no Autralians in it? ..........but there was 2 minutes of brilliance.
The 2 minutes of brilliance was when the 2 top ranked gold medal chances both landed on their arses during thier routines. ha ha im still laughing thinking about it now. But then reality, the Chinese homo came out, stumbled his way through a routine for some massive score and no doubt another bloody Chinese gold. Whats the point in turning up for an event involving being judged if your not Chinese?

Geeva would rather watch the live Australian Softball event than some girlyman prance out his floor routine.
