Its a Beautiful Day
1. The Cats travelled to Adelaide and left two large monkeys there.
2. Australia beat South Africa within 3 days.
3. Labour held a majority government in the state election.
4. Australia won a swag of gold at the Commonwealth Games.
In a total surprise the cats gave us long suffering supporters something to purr about, breaking a 43 year old hoodoo of not winning any sort of silverware and also breaking an interstate hoodoo. Yes its only a pre season comp that i have recently called DRAB, i gave my own team no chance of travelling to Adelaide and pulling off an upset, The cats proved me and the whole of Australia wrong and thats what makes it all the better. Well Take it

You Beauty!

Much to the dismay of big mouth captain Grahame Smith Australia has rolled South Africa within 3 days of play and hopefully now silenced there big mouthed moronic players. yes SA chased down our mammoth 436 last week in a ODI but the fact they couldnt score that in two innings of a test when it really counts is proof in the pudding really. Id like to congratulate Mark Boucher for getting hit in the chest, gloves, head and balls twice before being out for 2 off 21 balls, This was the highlight of my night and considering everything else that went on this was no easy feat. This humbling defeat was also more incredible based on the fact Warnie only took 3 wickets for the test, look out when he fires.

Stewie Clark took 9 in the test
and helped flatten South Africa

Tasmanias Labor government was returned with a majority, this election was considered by many to be a lot closer than this and all the talk leading up to it was about a minority government. I hope that Labor with the support of the public now continue to lead Tasmania into a brighter future and dont become stale and content. Im greatful that the Liberals havent been given another chance to lead the state back into debt and the gloomy days of the 1980's. If the greens ever held power god help us wed all be living in bark huts with bicycle powered electricity generators.

Winners are grinners!

I sat back on the couch and watched australia win 5 gold medals in the pool, 1 at the velodrome, 1 in the weightlifting, a couple in the gymnastics, and the mens and womens triathlons. The women swimmers are on fire they win nearly every event they are in and usually pick up a silver or bronze if not all of the medals in every event, as for the guys they are having a shocker, without Thorpie and Hackett we seem to struggle for a gold. Im sure they are all giving everything they have and they are to be admired for that, but we need to put in some work to get our younger fellas up there to a truly international level, to ensure our domination of the last few years in the pool continues.
